Is photobiomodulation safe?

Photobiomodulation has been studied for several decades, and no serious side effects have been observed. Luciola® helmets are designed with calibrated power to safely stimulate cognitive functions. Please follow the recommended session durations provided in the protocols. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact customer service.

Is the Luciola® photobiomodulation helmet safe?

Yes, our devices meet the strict standards of the European community and are CE-certified, ensuring their safety and compliance.

Is epilepsy a contraindication?

Epilepsy is not a contraindication for using Luciola® helmets. Some users even report improvements. However, we emphasize that our devices are intended for general well-being and should not be considered medical devices. We advise our customers not to modify their epilepsy treatment without consulting their healthcare provider. Additionally, avoid looking directly at the light emitted by the LEDs.

What protocol should I follow? Can I get assistance?

All the necessary information to follow the protocol will be provided with the device.
For example:

  • Young children will have short sessions, under 10 minutes, 6 days a week.
  • Adults will typically follow sessions of 15 to 20 minutes, 6 days a week.

When should the sessions be done?

Ideally, photobiomodulation sessions should be done at the end of the day, as they promote better quality sleep. However, if that’s not possible, you can schedule them at any time that suits you.Your child can have sessions while reading, watching TV, doing homework, or engaging in calm activities. For more active children, it’s perfectly fine to conduct the sessions once they’re asleep.
